Farewell to the Olympics
The summer of Olympics and Paralympic events have made me pretty proud to be British. What with the miserable economy going to pot and our consistently bad weather, you cant help but feel the nation needed a little pick me up.
I was lucky enough to get tickets to both Olympic and Paralympic events ranging from Taekwondo to Table Tennis and a good few lengths of swimming at the aquatic centre to top it all off. Many of the events i saw were in the Excel Centre a hop on the DLR tube linefrom Bank taking you straight to the centre.
The planning effort and excitement of all those involved in the events made it a great show for all. Not once did I see a spot of rain too, which helped keep the spirits high for all those visiting the events around the city.
I feel like the the events have been a resounding success, from the breath taking opening ceremony curated by Danny Boyle, to our fantastic athletes picking up gold after gold in the Olympics. Last night we closed the Paralympics, which saw our Super human athletes coming third in this medal table with an amazing 120 medals.
Bring it on Rio 2016 i will for one be frantically looking to book a ticket when they are released in a couple of years time
